A day of talks and poster presentations was followed up by a barbecue at the Point in Hyde Park. Friends–new and old–ate, drank, and enjoyed each others’ company as the sun set on Lake Michigan.
The first Midwest Population Genetic Conference was a success! In terms of the numbers: We had approximately 80 attendees, from 20 different off-campus labs and 17 on-campus labs. Attendees drove in from Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. There were 15 posters and 11 talks, 7 by grad-students/postdocs and 4 by assistant professors. Because…
